Signing of MOU for Joint Development of Technology and Services and Ecosystem Expansion
LG Electronics is partnering with Kakao Mobility to develop innovative technologies and services aimed at providing differentiated mobility customer experiences. The two companies recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at LG Electronics' Seocho R&D Campus in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, to collaborate on future mobility technology and jointly develop services while expanding the ecosystem. On the 22nd, LG Electronics announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kakao Mobility to jointly develop services and expand the ecosystem through technological collaboration in the future mobility sector.
The two companies plan to collaborate in various areas including ▲research and development of in-vehicle user experiences to discover valuable customer experiences ▲pilot projects for indoor and outdoor autonomous robot delivery services ▲development of new services through data linkage and integration between mobility and home appliance businesses ▲technology cooperation on the smartphone solution for pedestrian safety, ‘Soft V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything communication)’ ▲and expansion of the startup ecosystem.
Through this MOU, LG Electronics will focus on discovering differentiated technologies and services based on customer experiences to lead the future mobility market. Leveraging its accumulated expertise in infotainment systems, robotics, data fusion, and communications, LG Electronics plans to utilize Kakao Mobility’s platform operation know-how and advanced data analysis capabilities.
The two companies will also conduct pilot projects for indoor and outdoor robot delivery services. By combining LG Electronics’ autonomous robots and delivery solutions with Kakao Mobility’s control platform, they will build various services such as delivering goods inside buildings, and plan to collaborate on developing services linked with other industries in the future.
Additionally, LG Electronics plans to discover and verify new services by applying its in-vehicle HMI (Human-Machine Interaction) solutions to vehicles equipped with the Kakao Mobility platform.
