[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] On the 21st, Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will provide temporary emergency living support funds to low-income households to alleviate the livelihood burden and enhance consumption capacity due to the rapid rise in prices.
The recipients of the temporary emergency living support funds for low-income households are basic livelihood security recipients, legally designated near-poor classes, and single-parent families receiving child-rearing support as of May 29, 2022.
The support amount varies by benefit eligibility and household size: 300,000 KRW for single-person households in housing, education, near-poor, and single-parent categories, and 490,000 KRW for two-person households, among others.
The head of the eligible household can apply by visiting the local town or township office at their address from June 24 to August 1.
The support funds will be provided via prepaid cards to revitalize the local economy, and the usage period is until December 30, 2022.
A county official said, “Due to recent price increases, low-income households are going through even more difficult times. We hope the emergency living support funds will help even a little in their daily lives.”
