Mayor Lee Gang-deok Urges "Thorough Safety Management Until Completion"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Dong-guk] On the 21st, Lee Gang-deok, Mayor of Pohang City, conducted a final on-site inspection and encouraged the officials ahead of the completion of Buk-gu Office and Culture and Arts Factory, which are being developed as key facilities of the Jungang-dong Urban Regeneration New Deal Project.
On this day, Mayor Lee inspected the main facilities of the new Buk-gu Office building, which will officially relocate and begin operations from the 27th, carefully checking the spatial arrangement and the progress of finishing construction on each floor.
The Buk-gu Office and Culture and Arts Factory, built on the site of the former Jungang Elementary School, are core facilities of the Jungang-dong area Urban Regeneration New Deal Project (central city area type). They are a complex administrative and cultural hub space with a total floor area of 19,600㎡, consisting of one basement floor and nine above-ground floors.
The complex includes ▲Buk-gu Office (1st floor, 7th to 9th floors) ▲Buk Cafe (2nd floor) ▲Pohang Cultural Foundation and Culture and Arts Factory (3rd to 6th floors) ▲Workplace daycare center (1st floor) ▲Urban forest plaza (outdoor), expected to revitalize the declining old downtown area and provide citizens with high-quality administrative and cultural services.
Mayor Lee said, “Please do your best in the remaining projects such as the construction of the Youth Culture House and the Youth Startup Platform so that the old downtown can become a hopeful area through urban regeneration that residents empathize with,” adding, “Above all, I hope you ensure thorough safety management until the completion.”
