LG Uplus Unveils Completely Revamped MVNO Partnership Brand '+Alpha'
New 'Long-term Customer Care Program' Established for Customers with Over 2 Years in Q3 This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] LG Uplus announced on the 21st that it has changed the name of its joint partnership program with MVNOs using its network from 'U+ MVNO Partners' to '+Alpha' and will continue efforts for mutual growth with customers and the industry.
Park Joon-dong, Head of LG Uplus Consumer Service Group (Executive Director), introduced at a press conference held at the Seoul Yongsan headquarters on the same day, "'+Alpha' is an abbreviation of 'U+ MVNO Partners' and a brand that embodies the meaning of continuously providing customer value beyond mutual growth."
Along with the brand name change, LG Uplus also unveiled the '3C Mutual Growth Plan' to strengthen customer service, business competitiveness, and communication. To enhance customer service, LG Uplus has been supporting subscription consultation and rate change services for MVNO customers at LG Uplus stores since this month. In the third quarter of this year, a 'Long-term Customer Care Program' will be newly established for customers with over two years of service, providing free data and replacing old SIM cards.
Additionally, to strengthen business competitiveness, LG Uplus launched subscription-based partnership plans exclusive to MVNOs in collaboration with Kakao Mobility and Paris Baguette. Accordingly, users receive points based on their monthly subscription, which can be used like cash for taxi or designated driver services and food purchases.
LG Uplus plans to introduce ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) rate plans linked to environmental protection activities and blood donations in the future. Other initiatives include ▲expanding the shared SIM distribution network to Baemin's 'B Mart' ▲expanding self-activation ▲supplying SIM cards at affordable prices.
Furthermore, as a communication enhancement measure, LG Uplus introduced a virtual MVNO store called 'Alphatelecom' embodying the values of +Alpha. To cater to the MZ generation, whose MVNO subscription ratio is increasing recently, a snack called 'One Chip' will be sold in collaboration with Emart24 starting next month.
