Jinju City Hall Rowing Team, which won 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze at the 48th Jangbogo National Rowing Competition.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The rowing team of Jinju City Hall, Gyeongnam, achieved a great success by winning 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal at the ‘48th Jangbogo National Rowing Competition’ held from the 18th to the 20th at the Seonakdong River Rowing Stadium in Busan.
In this competition, the men's team featured Kim Dong-yong, Han Dong-hyun, and Shim Hyun-bo in the singles sculls; Kang Min-seong and Yoo Seong-hwan in the double sculls; and Kang Min-seong and Han Dong-hyun in the coxless pair events. The women's team included Jang Won-bin and Kang Chae-rim competing in the lightweight singles sculls and double sculls events.
As a result, Shim Hyun-bo won a gold medal, and Kim Dong-yong earned a silver medal. Notably, in the double sculls, Kang Min-seong and Yoo Seong-hwan won silver medals, demonstrating improved skills compared to the previous competition. Jang Won-bin and Kang Chae-rim won gold and bronze medals respectively in the singles sculls, and secured a gold medal in the double sculls.
Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il said, “The rowing team players who achieve excellent results in every competition are amazing and a source of pride,” adding, “I hope luck continues in the remaining competitions. We sincerely support the athletes together with the citizens of Jinju.”
