Jeju Coast Guard Conducts Training to Strengthen Maritime Patrol Unit's Rescue Capabilities
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Maritime Police Station (Chief Park Sangwook) announced on the 21st that it will conduct training to strengthen the rescue capabilities of the coastal patrol team members of the substation to prevent accidents in coastal waters during the peak summer beach season from the 21st to the 22nd.
This training will be conducted for about 60 substation employees assigned to the Kimnyeong, Sehwa, and Aewol branches during the two-month peak summer beach season from July 1 to August 31.
Additionally, training to enhance rescue capabilities will be conducted to ensure rapid life-saving response in case of safety accidents involving visitors during water play and leisure activities at beaches and other locations.
The training will include emergency first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for drowning victims, basic maintenance and operation of personal watercraft, and life-saving techniques using personal watercraft, aiming for swift initial response to prevent any casualties.
A Jeju Maritime Police official stated, “With this training, we will deploy the coastal patrol teams with enhanced rescue capabilities to each branch office to ensure prompt initial response and rescue activities in case of accidents, doing our best to ensure the safety of citizens enjoying water activities during the summer.”
