Jin Air Expands International Flight Capacity for Summer Peak Season
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Jin Air announced on the 20th that it will expand its international flight capacity in preparation for the upcoming summer vacation season.
First, starting from July 22, Jin Air will deploy the next-generation eco-friendly aircraft 'B737-8' on the Incheon~Phuket route, operating daily. The Incheon~Phuket route departs from Incheon Airport every day at 5:25 PM. In addition, Jin Air plans to resume the Incheon~Kalibo route with a schedule of seven flights per week starting July 22.
From the end of June, all Southeast Asian routes including Incheon~Bangkok, Incheon~Cebu, Incheon~Kota Kinabalu, and Incheon~Da Nang will be increased to seven flights per week sequentially. Also, from July 22, a total of 393-seat B777-200ER aircraft will be deployed on the Incheon~Guam, Incheon~Clark, and Incheon~Kota Kinabalu routes, supplying more than twice the seats compared to the existing B737-800. The Incheon~Bangkok route will also be increased to 13 flights per week by adding six morning flights.
Regarding the Japan routes, following the Japanese government's easing of entry restrictions for foreigners for tourism purposes implemented in June, the Incheon~Narita route will be increased to seven flights per week starting July 22. Other Japan routes will be gradually increased in operation by closely monitoring the activation of exchanges between the two countries and demand trends, including the issuance of individual tourist visas and resumption of visa-free entry.
To respond to the recovery of travel demand in the Busan region, Jin Air will additionally resume operations on four international routes departing from Busan along with the existing Busan~Guam route. The resumed routes will operate twice a week each: ▲ Busan~Da Nang route from June 29, ▲ Busan~Bangkok and Busan~Clark routes from June 30, and ▲ Busan~Cebu route from July 8. In particular, from July 22, the Busan~Guam and Busan~Bangkok routes will be increased to seven flights per week, and the Busan~Da Nang, Cebu, and Clark routes will be increased to four flights per week, expanding international air routes departing from Busan.
