Honam University Advances to Finals of Ministry of Science and ICT AI Startup Competition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Honam University announced on the 20th that the Computer Engineering Department's team "Keyboard Chining Saramdeul" (Advisor Professor Choi Kwangmi) advanced to the finals of the "K-Digital Challenge: 2022 AI Startup Competition" with the project "Implementation of a Customized AI Lyric Writing and Composition Program Using Voice Data."
Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, and organized by the AI Industry Convergence Project Group, the "2022 AI Startup Competition" is part of the AI-centered industrial convergence complex project, providing a total of 500 million KRW in prototype production funds for startup and commercialization to discover prospective entrepreneurs in the AI field.
With support from the AI Convergence Talent Development Project Group, Honam University conducted mentoring education, and a total of seven teams of undergraduates from the Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Industrial Design departments advanced to the finals.
Through the evaluation at the presentation event on the 15th, the Computer Engineering Department's team "Keyboard Chining Saramdeul" (Team Leader Lee Yujin, 3rd year, and six others) was confirmed as a finalist team.

In the finals to be held from 9 a.m. on the 30th at the 4th-floor Grand Ballroom of the Ramada Plaza Hotel, a total of 14 teams will each give a 10-minute presentation evaluation (5 minutes presentation, 5 minutes Q&A), undergoing assessment in five categories: team capability, task appropriateness, technicality, marketability, and policy compliance, to select the top 10 award-winning teams.
