[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The luxury accommodation facility ‘C-ONE ISLAND’ has opened at Baekgil Beach on Jaeun Island, Sinan-gun, Jeonnam.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 19th, C-ONE ISLAND was constructed by Geo Group Co., Ltd., a local company based in Jeonnam and Gwangju, starting in November 2019 and completed in two and a half years. The total investment amounted to 150 billion KRW.
Comprising a hotel and resort, it features a total of 415 rooms and a large convention center. After a trial stay period until the end of this month, it will begin normal operations for the general public starting next month.
Additionally, Geo Group Co., Ltd. plans to develop the 540,000㎡ ‘Jaeun Marine Tourism Complex’ by 2026 with a total investment of 830 billion KRW.
The plan includes creating a complex where tourists can enjoy rest and entertainment by establishing a vacation pension complex, recreational facilities, a marina, and world-class themed streets representing France, Germany, Japan, China, and more, including C-ONE ISLAND.
Sinan is an ideal healing tourist destination, with the Angel Bridge opened in 2019, Imja Bridge and Chupo Bridge in 2021, and the Purple Island, selected by the United Nations (UN) last year as the world’s best tourist village.
The province, in cooperation with the Korea Tourism Organization, will operate various tourism products such as experience packages linking accommodation at C-ONE ISLAND with beach horseback riding under the ‘Jeonnam Travel Month’ program.
Choi Il-gi, chairman of Geo Group, said, “We expect C-ONE ISLAND to serve as a foundation for stay-type tourism in the southwestern region of Jeonnam,” adding, “We will continue to strive to create optimal luxury tourism accommodations that offer clean and healing experiences in the land of life, Udeung Jeonnam.”
Kim Young-rok, governor of Jeonnam Province, stated, “Luxury accommodations that harmonize well with local tourist attractions play a significant role in transforming the future of the region,” and added, “C-ONE ISLAND, located on Jaeun Island in Sinan, the land of angels, will be a stepping stone toward an era of 100 million domestic tourists and 3 million overseas tourists.”
