The city predicts that this trend of increasing visitors will continue in June, the "Travel Month," and cautiously forecasts that the peak tourism season in July and August will recover to pre-COVID-19 levels.
Accordingly, the city is actively preparing various attractions and activities to satisfy visitors' five senses.
First, festivals and events that could not be held due to COVID-19 will be held one after another.

The "Tourism Comprehensive Countermeasure Team" will also operate until October to resolve inconveniences for tourists and citizens.
The city deploys about 60 personnel, including public officials and temporary workers, every Saturday and Sunday to provide on-site support such as traffic guidance at major tourist spots and inspection of tourism and convenience facilities to directly address inconveniences.
In addition, 40 temporary workers will be additionally deployed for maintaining order at tourist sites, environmental cleanup, and quarantine management to thoroughly prepare for the increase in tourists.
A city official said, "With the lifting of social distancing, travel demand is showing explosive growth," adding, "We will prepare various attractions and activities so that Yeosu, the nation's top marine tourism city, can maintain its reputation. We will also do our best to minimize inconveniences for citizens."
Meanwhile, according to statistics on visitors to major tourist sites, Yeosu City accounted for five of the top 10 most visited tourist attractions in Jeollanam-do in 2021.
