9th Geochang County Council Elected Members Meeting Held
Preparations Progressing Smoothly for July Opening
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Geochang County Council in Gyeongnam held a meeting on the 14th at the council for 11 elected members of the 8th nationwide local elections, serving as a briefing session for the 9th Geochang County Council members-elect.
The meeting began with a welcoming address by the current chairman Kim Jong-du, followed by introductions of the members-elect and council secretariat staff, an explanation of the current status of Geochang County and the County Council, guidance on reference matters for council activities, and concluded with a tour of the council facilities.
The members-elect greeted and exchanged pleasantries with each other before the meeting started and also had their first official introductions with the staff.
Kim Jin-geun, head of the council secretariat, after introducing the staff, said, “All staff will unite with one heart and one mind to ensure there are no inconveniences in carrying out council activities,” adding, “We will support the 9th council’s activities thoroughly.”
The meeting was organized to explain overall matters related to the 9th Geochang County Council’s activities, summarizing key points about the major status of Geochang County and the council, the opening and conduct of sessions, and the schedule for the second half of the year. It ended with a tour of the meeting hall and other council facilities, concluding all scheduled events.
The Geochang County Council plans to elect the chairperson at the 263rd extraordinary session on July 4 and hold the opening ceremony on the following day, July 5.
