Aitronics Wins 17.8 Billion KRW Highway Corporation Hi-Pass System Construction Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Aitronics, a subsidiary of IL Science (CEO Jeong Seok), announced on the 15th that it has won a contract worth a total of 17.8 billion KRW to build single-lane and multi-lane Hi-Pass systems for the Korea Expressway Corporation.
This project was ordered by the Korea Expressway Corporation for the purchase and installation of single-lane and multi-lane Hi-Pass systems installed on highways, and is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. The total project cost is 6.4 billion KRW for the single-lane Hi-Pass and 11.4 billion KRW for the multi-lane Hi-Pass. Aitronics formed a consortium with Estrafic for the single-lane sector and with Daebo Information & Communication for the multi-lane sector, successfully winning the bid.
With this project win, Aitronics will be able to contribute to improving highway traffic flow and enhancing driver safety and convenience by utilizing its Hi-Pass system technology. In particular, the multi-lane Hi-Pass system is a next-generation toll collection system that removes curbs between Hi-Pass lanes and expands Hi-Pass installation to two or more lanes, allowing vehicles to pass through toll gates quickly and safely at highway mainline speeds.
An Aitronics official said, "Winning the Korea Expressway Corporation contract gives us an opportunity to demonstrate the related technology and know-how that Aitronics has accumulated so far," adding, "We will further advance our next-generation intelligent transportation system and Hi-Pass technology capabilities to actively contribute to the commercialization of fully autonomous driving by 2027."
