[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The transition committee for Choi Ho-kwon, the mayor-elect of Yeongdeungpo District in the 8th local government, officially launched on the 14th, holding a plaque ceremony at the annex auditorium of Yeongdeungpo District Office and beginning full-scale activities.
The 'Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Transition Committee' appointed former Yeongdeungpo District Council Chairperson Oh In-young as the chairperson of the transition committee and former Seoul Metropolitan Council member Kim Young-ro as the vice-chairperson. The committee is organized into ▲Planning, Audit, Administration, Culture, and Education divisions ▲Environment, Welfare, and Health divisions ▲Urban, Safety, and Construction divisions, aiming to solidify the transition process.
The transition committee consists of 15 transition members and 15 advisory members, including the chairperson and vice-chairperson, all possessing rich insight and practical experience in each division, planning to jointly draw visions and blueprints for major tasks.
At the plaque ceremony held on the 14th, 15 transition members including Mayor-elect Choi Ho-kwon attended to commemorate the official launch of the transition committee and presented appointment letters to the members, marking the start of their activities.
Subsequently, they held meetings with senior district office staff to continue open communication and agreed to actively work towards the 8th local government administration that faithfully reflects the will of the residents.
Going forward, the transition committee plans to conduct consultations by department and internal meetings to establish a roadmap and detailed plans for realizing the vision, policy direction, and key pledge projects of the 8th local government administration.
At the launch ceremony, Mayor-elect Choi Ho-kwon said, “I sincerely thank the members of the transition committee who willingly accompany us at the starting point of the 8th local government. I ask each division member to gather their deep insight, wisdom, and passion to make Yeongdeungpo a better place to live.”
He added, “I will always keep in mind the residents’ aspirations and support for a new Yeongdeungpo shown during this election process and, as a ‘mayor always by the residents’ side,’ will create changes based on communication and principles, repaying with results.”

Following the official launch on the 14th, Mayor-elect Choi Ho-kwon’s transition committee will begin a full district work report on the 15th and continue activities until June 28.
