Democratic Party Suncheon Gap District Committee Holds 'Local Election Winners Workshop'

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Democratic Party of Korea's Suncheon·Gwangyang·Gokseong·Gurye (Gap) Regional Committee (Chairman So Byung-chul) will hold a workshop for elected officials in the Suncheon area for the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections.
According to the regional committee on the 14th, the elected officials workshop, held from 10 a.m. on the 15th at the 'Paru Camp Facility,' will be conducted under the theme "30 Years of Local Autonomy: Mature Character, Competent Workers," focusing on discussions about Democratic Party innovation plans and the realization of competent local autonomy.
The workshop consists of ▲ a dialogue with local journalists to hear sincere opinions on desirable legislative activities from the media (Q&A possible) ▲ special lectures on effective legislative activities by Kang Moon-sik, CEO of Paru, and Jeong Soon-gwan, former Chairman of the Autonomy and Decentralization Committee and member of the Local Autonomy Development Committee ▲ and breakout discussions among the elected officials based on these.
During the breakout discussions, participants will reaffirm their commitment to competent and fair legislative activities and focus on topics such as regional committee innovation plans and measures to strengthen the expertise of local councils.
The elected officials will also proceed with the ‘Integrity Pledge Reading.’
Twenty-eight Democratic Party elected officials, including those elected from Haeryong-myeon belonging to the regional committee, will pledge to perform their duties with integrity by prohibiting abuse of power, solicitation, and corruption, and resolve to become a ‘one team’ sharing the Democratic Party’s vision and values as a common goal.
A regional committee official stated, “The only way for the Democratic Party to regain trust is through competent and clean legislative activities that contribute to regional development,” and added, “We will use this workshop as a stepping stone for a great innovation and success of the Suncheon Regional Committee.”
