SK Hynix Launches 'K-Semiconductor' Talent Development Program
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] "A talent development program where current SK Hynix engineers directly transfer semiconductor knowledge and connect to partner company recruitment"
SK Hynix announced on the 13th that it is recruiting participants for the 7th term of ‘Youth Hy-Five (Hy-Five)’, a program that connects excellent partner companies in need of talent recruitment with job seekers. It will also implement ‘Youth Hy-Po (Hy-Po)’ for the first time this year, providing job training opportunities for university students.
Both programs were created to nurture semiconductor talent and strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic semiconductor ecosystem, thereby creating social value.
Youth Hy-Five is a recruitment support program that connects excellent partner companies in need of talent recruitment with job seekers interested in the semiconductor industry. Participants are provided with semiconductor job training conducted by SK Hynix engineers as instructors, as well as internship opportunities at partner companies. Outstanding interns who complete the program are given the opportunity to be converted to full-time employees. Even after joining, continuous learning is supported through the job training platform ‘Semiconductor Academy’ operated by SK Hynix.
Youth Hy-Five started in 2018 as ‘Youth Hope Sharing’ and is now in its 7th term. For this 7th term, applications are open until the 21st for job seekers aged 34 or younger. About 100 candidates will be selected through interviews, and education followed by internships will begin in August. Interns will receive a salary of 6 million KRW (for 3 months).
More than 70% of interns who completed the program up to the 6th term have been converted to full-time positions, fulfilling the recruitment needs of both partner companies and job seekers simultaneously. Especially for this 7th term, the number of hires is expected to be the highest ever, based on partner company requests.
Youth Hy-Po is a newly established program this year, inspired by the successful operation of Youth Hy-Five. It offers university students the opportunity to experience semiconductor job roles. The instructors, including SK Hynix engineers, provide a diverse curriculum covering semiconductor basics, devices, processes, quality, and safety.
Applications are open until the 26th for university students with less than two years remaining until graduation. About 200 participants will be selected in July, and approximately 8 weeks of training will begin in August. The training fee is fully supported.
Detailed application methods for both programs can be found after signing up on ‘DBL Square,’ an online platform for knowledge sharing and technical cooperation between SK Hynix and partner companies.
