Gwangju Dong-gu 'Integrated Health Promotion Project' Campaign Launched
Promoting Community Health Amid Prolonged COVID-19 Pandemic
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 10th that it conducted an integrated health promotion campaign at Sansu-dong Cultural Square to improve the health of local residents exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The event was organized to create an atmosphere of practicing health in daily life following the full resumption of public health center operations and to monitor the health of local residents.
On the occasion of 'Oral Health Day,' the importance of oral health and accurate health information were also promoted.
During the campaign, consultations and services related to health care were provided, including ▲oral examinations and consultations ▲blood pressure and blood sugar measurements for the prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases ▲smoking cessation and alcohol moderation counseling ▲promotion of the walking app 'WalkOn' to encourage walking, along with distribution of health-related promotional materials.
Mayor Im Taek of Dong-gu said, “Some public health center services that were suspended due to COVID-19 resumed on the 23rd of last month,” adding, “We will continue to provide various health care services to improve the health of local residents and prevent various diseases, thereby enhancing the quality of life of our citizens.”
