Gwangju Seo-gu to Host 'Urban Cultural Arts Festival' Until October
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The “2022 Urban Cultural Arts Festival,” operated by Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City to provide local residents with various opportunities to enjoy culture, officially opened on the 4th.
According to Seo-gu on the 10th, the opening performance featured Prologue, selected as an excellent performance team, and the Pops Orchestra, which plays lively and bright semi-classical music, offering beautiful melodies and romance to citizens visiting Pungam Lake Park.
The first performance of the day was held successfully at Pungam Lake Park with about 300 local residents in attendance.
The Urban Cultural Arts Festival, continuing until October, will hold performances every Saturday at 6:30 PM at the outdoor performance hall in Pungam Lake Park, every Friday at 4:30 PM at Sangmu Friday Market, and at 7:30 PM at Uncheon Lake Park.
This year, Seo-gu plans to make it a definitive urban festival by providing a variety of attractions and entertainment, including popular songs, dance, magic, and instrumental performances, over a total of 40 sessions.
A Seo-gu official said, “The Urban Cultural Arts Festival, which offers the joy of nature, music, and people becoming one, is rich in various sights and entertainment,” adding, “We hope that through watching performances in daily life, citizens’ tired bodies and minds will be healed, and healing and positive energy will be delivered.”
Meanwhile, the Urban Cultural Arts Festival contributes to satisfying the cultural demands of local residents and revitalizing culture and arts in harmony with nature in the natural environments of Geumdangsan, Pungam Lake, and Uncheon Lake.
