Yeosu City Receives Strong Response for 'National Industrial Complex Field Experience' Program for Jeon University Students
Yeosu City, Gongbalhyeop, and Chonnam National University Jointly Host University Student Tour of LG Chem and GS Caltex Yeosu Plants
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeonnam Yeosu City announced on the 9th that it is receiving great responses by jointly operating a university student ‘National Industrial Complex Field Experience’ education program with the Yeosu Industrial Complex Joint Development Council (hereinafter referred to as Gongbalhyeop) and Chonnam National University.
According to the city, on the 8th, 58 students from Chonnam National University Yeosu Campus toured LG Chem and GS Caltex Yeosu plants within the Yeosu National Industrial Complex.
Visiting companies with high employment preference helped students with career planning and provided information necessary for employment such as practical skills, receiving positive responses from participating students.
Meanwhile, this ‘National Industrial Complex Field Experience’ was conducted as part of the ‘Industry-Government-Academia Convergence Employment Competency Enhancement Education.’
The ‘Industry-Government-Academia Convergence Employment Competency Enhancement Education’ is divided into ▲ employment special lectures directly given by industrial complex officials ▲ and company field experiences.
Yeosu City and Gongbalhyeop plan to operate 4 special lectures and 1 field experience in the second half of the year following 3 sessions in the first half, in cooperation with Chonnam National University.
Kim Shin, Secretary General of Gongbalhyeop, said, “We thank LG Chem and GS Caltex for their active cooperation despite the difficulties in site visits due to COVID-19 and company circumstances,” and added, “We hope this helped local university students with career setting and employment competency enhancement.”
A Chonnam National University official stated, “We will continue to strive through industry-government-academia cooperation so that many students can find employment at the Yeosu National Industrial Complex.”
A Yeosu City official said, “We will make efforts so that young people can nurture their employment dreams within the region and obtain good jobs through various educational programs.”
