Yoon Byung-tae, Mayor-elect of Naju, Launches Transition Committee... Female-gu Appointed as Chairperson
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] At 2 p.m. on the 8th, Yoon Byeongtae, the mayor-elect of Naju, launched the ‘Naju Great Transformation Transition Committee’ and began full-scale administrative transition.
The Naju Great Transformation Transition Committee consists of 15 members, including Chairwoman Yeoseonggu, a standing advisor at Korea Energy University, and Vice Chairman Lee Dongbok, a former Naju City Council member.
The transition committee plans to operate with the Autonomous Administration Division, Agriculture and Rural Division, Economy and Jobs Division, Education and Welfare Division, Culture and Tourism Division, along with the Special Committee on Administrative Innovation and the Special Committee on Citizens’ Rights and Interests.
A separate advisory committee will also be established, expected to serve as a continuous advisory body for the development of city administration.
Division and special committee chairpersons have been appointed as practical experts recognized for their long-term expertise in their respective fields, and with women making up 40% of the members, it shows that the foundation of the Naju Great Transformation is based on ‘innovation’ and ‘harmony.’
The transition committee will assess the city’s organization and budget by division, grasp the major current status of city administration, receive departmental work reports, then set policy directions for the 8th elected term and establish a plan to review and implement Mayor-elect Yoon Byeongtae’s pledges.
Additionally, the Special Committee on Citizens’ Rights and Interests plans to prepare measures to address urgent issues and complaints such as odor problems, SRF issues, and public transportation problems.
In particular, the Special Committee on Administrative Innovation will identify current problems in Naju city administration based on past evaluations and analyses, and prepare citizen-centered administrative innovation plans such as the abolition of the Communication Office.
Mayor-elect Yoon Byeongtae said at the launch ceremony of the transition committee, “The Naju Great Transformation Transition Committee is composed mainly of experts in each field, and we will make it a working transition committee that reflects the voices of various groups such as youth, women, and the elderly.”
He added, “Upon inauguration on the 1st of next month, we will ‘normalize administration,’ innovate the city hall completely for the citizens, and lay the foundation to properly realize Naju’s potential and build a global small but strong city with a population of 200,000.”
