Booyoung Group Donates New Construction of 'Ujeongwon' Senior Center in Yeosu, Jeonnam
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] Booyoung Group announced on the 8th that it has donated the newly constructed senior citizens' center "Ujeongwon (宇庭園)" to the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yeosu Branch to enhance the welfare of elderly people in Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do.
Located in the Sinwol-ro area of Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do, Ujeongwon is a four-story building with a total floor area of 998.69㎡, equipped with offices, classrooms, and an auditorium.
About 100 people attended the donation ceremony held that day, including Shin Myungho, chairman of Booyoung Group who attended on behalf of Chairman Lee Joonggeun, Lee Hyungsul, senior vice chairman of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, Kim Myungnam, chairman of the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yeosu Branch and its executives, National Assembly member Joo Cheolhyun, Yeosu Mayor Kwon Ohbong, Mayor-elect Jeong Gimyeong, and other key local figures.
The existing Yeosu City senior citizens' center was known to be cramped and outdated, causing significant inconvenience for the elderly in their activities. Although the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yeosu Branch had secured the site for the new center, it had faced difficulties in raising funds for construction. Booyoung Group's donation for the new building has thus resolved a long-standing welfare issue for the elderly in Yeosu City.
