Sono International Offers Special Discounts on Samaksan Cable Car for 'Month of Patriots and Veterans'
Up to 30% Discount for Groups of Up to 4 Including Soldiers, Police, and Firefighters in June
Discounts Also Available for Vivaldi Park Ocean World Visitors Until August
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Sono International, a subsidiary of Daemyung Sono Group, announced on the 8th that it will offer special discounts on the Chuncheon Samaksan Lake Cable Car in June, the Month of National Defense and Veterans, for soldiers, police officers, firefighters, and others who work hard for national security and citizen safety.
This special discount, available throughout June, provides benefits for up to four people including the eligible individual?soldiers, police officers, firefighters, and national merit recipients. Based on on-site ticket issuance, a 30% discount applies on weekdays (Monday to Friday), and a 20% discount on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Presenting the relevant ID at ticket purchase is required to receive the discount.
A Sono International official said, "We launched this promotion so that those who dedicate themselves to the country and its people can enjoy a joyful and happy leisure time with the Samaksan Cable Car."
Ahead of the peak summer season, Sono International will also offer discounts on the Samaksan Cable Car fare to customers of Vivaldi Park Ocean World (water park). The discount applies according to the number of people indicated on the receipt proving use of Ocean World. The promotion runs until August 31. The discount rates are 30% on weekdays and 20% on weekends.
Until August, there will also be discount events for Gangwon Province residents and Chuncheon citizens. On weekdays, Gangwon residents can ride the Samaksan Cable Car at a 20% discounted price, and Chuncheon citizens at a 40% discount. Customers boarding the first run (9?10 a.m.) in June can also use the facility at a 20% reduced rate.

Meanwhile, the Samaksan Cable Car, which opened last October, is the longest cable car in Korea, running a 3.61 km route with Uiam Lake and Samaksan Mountain as its backdrop. A total of 66 cabins are in operation, including 20 crystal cabins with transparent floors. The round trip takes about 30 minutes. In April, a skywalk was also opened at the top of Samaksan Cable Car (the 8th ridge of Samaksan Mountain). The 435-meter gentle walking deck is designed for easy access by people of all ages.
