The Korea Mine Reclamation Corporation is a public enterprise established in September last year through the merger of the Korea Resources Corporation and the Korea Mine Reclamation Corporation.
To this end, SK Broadband held a business agreement ceremony on the 3rd with the Korea Mine Reclamation Corporation, Korea Mining Association, Korea Standards Association, Hanwha, and others. This agreement was promoted to revitalize the mineral resource self-sufficiency ecosystem, whose importance has been emphasized due to the recent raw material supply shortage, and to improve the productivity of individual mines by introducing advanced technology.
Smart mining is a technology that combines ICT technology with mining development equipment to enhance work efficiency and safety through real-time communication between people, devices, or objects, and is regarded as a core of the 4th industrial revolution in the mining sector.
SK Broadband will build wired and wireless communication infrastructure within mines and carry out projects for installing and operating IoT sensors that detect gas leaks or earthquakes and real-time monitoring CCTV. In addition, it will be responsible for consulting on communication service solutions to strengthen remote management and maintaining and servicing real-time control systems.
