[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is launching a private action group to respond to fine dust.
On the 3rd, Gyeonggi Province held the 'Fine Dust Response Private Action Group Launch Ceremony' at the Gyeonggi Sangsang Campus in Suwon and officially began its activities.
The fine dust response private action group consists of a total of 52 members who will be active from June to December in five cities: Seongnam, Ansan, Pyeongtaek, Siheung, and Gwangmyeong.
The province will provide members with simple fine dust measuring devices and educate them on measurement methods through diagnostic practice.
Members will select monitoring locations for fine dust pollution sources, such as roads with heavy vehicle traffic, industrial complexes, and underground stations, and will inspect fine dust pollution sources in daily life.
The province also plans to offer various opportunities for citizen policy participation, including hosting fine dust response talk concerts, distributing fine dust reduction action guidelines, and conducting air quality improvement campaigns involving residents.
