LGU+ Offers Budget Phone Services at 1,800 Stores Nationwide

LG Uplus announced on the 2nd that it will support customer service (CS) such as plan changes at over 1,800 stores nationwide to help the growth of small and medium MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) companies and enhance customer convenience.
The domestic MVNO market has been growing significantly every year, but there is a shortage of offline bases where MVNO customers can activate services or receive service-related consultations. Small and medium MVNO operators with limited store operation capacity have only provided online consultations, causing inconvenience to customers.
To solve this issue, LG Uplus decided to utilize more than 1,800 locations including directly operated stores and retail stores (agencies) nationwide. Previously, LG Uplus provided MVNO consultation services through about 200 directly operated stores under the U+ MVNO Partners program, but it has increased the number of stores offering customer service through training and guidance for retail store owners and staff.
The target customers are those of 25 MVNO operators leasing LG Uplus’s network. U+ MVNO customers can use services such as MVNO SIM activation, name changes, number changes, temporary suspension, and subscription/cancellation of additional services. At the stores, consultations are also provided for the ‘Cham Swiun Family Bundle’ product, which offers up to KRW 13,200 monthly discount on internet fees by combining MVNO and U+ Internet.
The 18 operators eligible for MVNO and internet bundling include ACN Korea, Liv Mobile, One Telecom, Fine Communication, Leg One MVNO, Merchand Korea, Smartel, Eyes Vision, Enext Telecom, S1, Yeo-yu Telecom MVNO, Unicoms, Space Net Co., Ltd., Easy Mobile, Keun Saram, Cell Mobile, Jeju Broadcasting MVNO, and others.
LG Uplus has continued to support small and medium MVNOs. Since the beginning of the year, the MVNO-exclusive consulting store ‘MVNO+’ has activated more than 300 SIM plans monthly. By dispatching MVNO specialist consultants to over 40 post offices nationwide to provide customer consultations, the number of activations increased by more than 80% within three months.
