Gochang-gun Promotes 'Smart Network Management Infrastructure Construction Project'
[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] On the 31st, Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced that it will invest a total of 3.8 billion KRW to promote the ‘Smart Water Network Management Infrastructure Construction Project’ incorporating Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Earlier, the county signed a consignment agreement with Korea Water Resources Corporation last year and began full-scale implementation this month, planning to complete the project by the end of the year.
The ‘Smart Water Network Management Infrastructure Construction Project’ was initiated to improve issues in water supply facility management revealed by the ‘Incheon Red Water Incident’ in 2019 and the ‘tap water midge (larvae)’ problem in 2020, aiming to enhance trust in tap water.
Once the smart water supply management system is established, the status of tap water within Gochang-gun can be checked in real time.
Additionally, through measuring devices, it will be possible to systematically collect and analyze water quality, water pressure, and water network status.
With the creation of small-scale flow meters and water pressure monitoring systems, it is expected to play a significant role in preventing the recurrence of various tap water accidents.
Kim Junnyeon, head of the Water and Sewage Business Office, said, “By integrating the latest technology into tap water management, we expect to provide high-quality tap water supply services to residents,” and added, “We will continue to actively strive for stable tap water supply.”
