A Bag Made from Expired Fire Hoses... Seoul City and Lotte Department Store Open Sustainable Ethical Fashion Market
Operation of Pop-up Store for 7 Sustainable Ethical Fashion Brands
Supporting Market Access for Sustainable Fashion Brands Benefiting the Earth Environment, Including Eco-friendly, Upcycling, and Fair Trade
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] A pop-up store where you can meet sustainable fashion brands that consider the global environment, such as bags upcycled from worn-out firefighter uniforms and replaced fire hoses that bear traces of saving lives, bags made from plant-based materials like cacti, and outdoor clothing made from discarded paragliding fabric, will be held in one place.
On the 30th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Lotte Department Store announced that they will jointly operate a pop-up store from the 1st to the 12th of next month on the first floor of the Young Plaza at Lotte Department Store’s main branch, gathering ‘sustainable ethical fashion brands’ in one place. The RE:EARTH exhibition features seven brands that consider ‘sustainability’ in all processes from planning, production, packaging, to distribution.
The seven participating brands are tenants or related companies of the ‘Seoul Sustainable Ethical Fashion Hub,’ which is operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to strengthen sustainable fashion capabilities. The city plans to continuously plan and operate pop-up stores to raise public awareness of sustainable fashion.
