Industry-Hospital-Government Workshop to Accelerate AI Drug Development Held
June 16-17 Jointly Hosted by AI New Drug Development Support Center, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Korea Health Industry Development Institute
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwanju] The Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association's AI New Drug Development Support Center announced on the 27th that it will hold the "Digital Transformation of the Pharmaceutical and Bio Industry and AI-Driven New Drug Development Acceleration Industry-Hospital-Government Workshop" over two days from the 16th to 17th of next month, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.
This workshop was organized to understand the government's new drug research and development (R&D) policies and hospital medical data, and to derive concrete collaboration plans that combine the know-how of new drug development experts with artificial intelligence (AI) technology. It plans to comprehensively review trends in the digital transformation of the pharmaceutical and bio industry, the possession and management status of medical data at research-oriented hospitals, cases of medical data utilization, and government policies on new drug development and data promotion.
On the first day, presentations will be given on topics such as ▲Digital Transformation of the Pharmaceutical Industry (Kangbok Lee, Executive Director at IQVIA) ▲Digital Transformation Strategies of New Drug Development Research Institutes (Hyunjin Shin, Deputy Director at Mokam Life Science Research Institute) ▲Industry-Hospital Collaboration in New Drug Development Using Medical Data (Professor Chawon Chul from Samsung Seoul Hospital, Dr. Taejun Jeon from Seoul Asan Hospital) ▲Research Cases Utilizing Korean Dementia Big Data (Professor Dahee Hwang, Department of Life Sciences, Seoul National University).
Following this, 40 new drug development researchers and AI developers will be divided into five subgroups to discuss ▲Ways to utilize medical data in AI new drug development ▲Collaboration project execution plans for integrating new drug development technology and AI technology ▲Implementation plans for the digital transformation of the pharmaceutical industry.
