Ukraine War Veteran Lee Geun Returns Home... "Departure Ban and Investigation After Treatment"

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] Former Captain Lee Geun, who participated in the foreign volunteer unit 'Territorial Defense Force International Brigade' in Ukraine, has returned to Korea.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 27th, Lee arrived at Incheon International Airport at around 7:30 a.m. on the 27th. He is currently undergoing quarantine and customs procedures.
The police sent investigators to the airport to interview Lee and check the extent of his injuries.
Lee, a former captain of the Navy Special Warfare Group (UDT/SEAL), left for Ukraine in early March to fight against the Russian army. It is known that he was injured on the battlefield and is returning for rehabilitation treatment.
A police official stated, "We will immediately proceed with the travel ban procedure against Lee and schedule an investigation considering his treatment progress and health condition."

Lee was reported for illegally entering Ukraine in March and is accused of violating the Passport Act. Violations of the Passport Act can result in imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million won, as well as administrative sanctions such as passport invalidation.
