Yongin City Resumes Career and Experience Programs for Middle and High School Students After 3 Years
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is resuming career and experience programs for middle and high school students after three years.
Yongin City announced on the 26th that it will restart the "Beautiful Journey Together in Yongin" program, which allows participants to travel around various parts of Yongin while engaging in volunteer activities and career experiences simultaneously, and is recruiting participants.
This educational program started in 2017 and attracted about 1,300 participants annually, with a cumulative total exceeding 4,000, but was suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19.
Participating youths can visit major tourist sites such as Jangchon Village, Hantaek Botanical Garden, Yongin Insect Theme Park, Seokpo Forest Park, and Yongdam Lake, where they can help with farm work, participate in plogging environmental cleanup activities, and experience careers through meetings with plant managers or insect breeders.
The city decided to resume the event following the easing of quarantine measures and will recruit 320 participants (8 teams) on a first-come, first-served basis by the 3rd of next month for the first round. The second round of recruitment (1,280 individuals and groups) will be conducted as needed after the first round closes.
