Busan Port Authority Supports Hope Kits for 100 Elderly Living Alone Households
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan Port Authority (BPA) supported ‘Hope Kits’ filled with warmth for elderly living alone in celebration of Family Month.
The ‘Hope Kits’ consisted of flowerpots and succulents made by a social enterprise reprocessing coffee grounds from the BPA in-house cafe, and agricultural and marine products purchased from Sujeong Market in Dong-gu, a sister traditional market.
BPA delivered the Hope Kits to 100 households of elderly living alone residing in Jung-gu and Yeongdo-gu through the Foundation for the Welfare of the Elderly Living Alone.
Since signing a business agreement with the Foundation for the Welfare of the Elderly Living Alone in April 2020, BPA has been conducting various projects annually to support elderly living alone together with the foundation, including sharing flowers of love, improving old residential environments, and delivering agricultural and marine product kits.
