Jeonju City Strengthens Jazz, Culture, and Tourism Exchanges with New Orleans, USA

[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 24th that it is strengthening cultural and tourism exchanges with major cities in the United States.
According to the city, the Jeonju delegation, including Park Hyung-bae, Vice Mayor of Jeonju, visited New Orleans, known for its strengths in culture and tourism, and Seattle, which is fostering advanced industrial cultural contents, from the 19th to the 24th.
This visit to the United States was planned to attract domestic and international tourists and to successfully promote the tourism hub city project, following the city's selection as a tourism hub city in 2020.
The delegation visited Bellevue City Hall in Seattle and met with Vice Mayor Jared Nieuwenhuis to learn about future industry trends and the innovation vision of global companies, while introducing the status of Jeonju's major industries and discussing ways to strengthen partnerships.
They also signed an agreement with the Seattle-Washington Korean Association to attract tourists and other collaborative efforts.
Furthermore, in New Orleans, where continuous friendly exchanges have been maintained since 2019, they met with Mayor LaToya Cantrell to reaffirm their friendship.
In particular, they signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen exchanges in jazz, culture, and tourism with New Orleans, well known as the city of jazz.
Vice Mayor Park Hyung-bae said, "The purpose of this U.S. tour was to promote Jeonju as a tourism hub city and a city favorable for business overseas," adding, "We plan to focus on strategies that can be applied to our city's tourism and business sectors, including cultural tourism and industrial trends in cities like Seattle."
