Jinju City Selected for Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Public Data Enterprise Matching Support Project' for 2 Consecutive Years
Selected for 2 Projects This Year Following 1 Project in 2021, Securing 603.38 Million KRW in National Funding
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, has been consecutively selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s ‘Public Data Enterprise Matching Support Project’ this year following last year.
The ‘Public Data Enterprise Matching Support Project’ is a program where institutions and companies that require public data construction technology collaborate to build and open data, supporting data-driven administration and public services.
This year, the projects selected for Jinju City are ‘Establishment of a Tourism Vulnerable Environment Information DB by Tourist Spot for a Barrier-Free City Jinju’ and ‘Establishment of a DB for the Current Status Survey of Jinju City Forest Trails (Hiking Trails) and Facilities,’ securing the entire project budget of 603.38 million KRW in national funds. The city expects that being selected for the project two years in a row will accelerate the development of a smart city and the creation of a data-driven city.
Through this project, Jinju City will conduct a field survey and analysis of convenience facilities and surrounding facility information for tourism vulnerable groups by tourist spot, as well as the current status of facilities installed on forest trails (hiking trails) and forest trail route information.
The city plans to build the data by the end of this year through agreements with the National Information Society Agency (NIA) and data-related partner companies, and to open it via the Public Data Portal and the city’s homepage.
