SM Shipping, New Employee Training in Shipping and Logistics Field
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] SM Line announced on the 19th that it conducted on-site training for new employees.
The training was held twice, on the 12th-13th and 16th-17th, targeting a total of 9 new employees who joined in 2022 and 11 employees who were unable to receive on-site training due to COVID-19. They visited Busan New Port, Busan North Port, container yards, client logistics warehouses, and SM Group’s ship management company KLCSM.
SM Line designed this program to enhance new employees' practical skills by allowing them to directly experience logistics sites and to instill a sense of responsibility as a national deep-sea shipping company that supports companies’ overseas market expansion. This tour was the first program conducted since outdoor activities such as external business trips and site visits were suspended for over two years due to COVID-19.
Park Ki-hoon, CEO of SM Line, said, “This training was prepared so that new employees can feel the responsibility and pride of contributing to companies’ overseas market expansion by directly touring import-export logistics sites,” and added, “We expect them to grow into key players contributing to the revival of Korea’s shipping industry.”
