12 Dead as Salt Factory Exterior Wall Collapses in Western India

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] On the 18th (local time), the wall of a salt factory located in western India collapsed, killing more than 12 workers.
According to local media, a wall of a salt packaging factory suddenly collapsed in the Morbi area of Gujarat state in the west on that day. More than 12 workers who were working on site lost their lives, and more than 13 were reported injured.
Brijesh Merja, Minister of Employment and Labor of Gujarat state, said, "Rescue operations are underway to save workers who may be trapped under the debris."
The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the bereaved families and said, "I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured."
