Communication for Mutual Development ... Busan Port Authority Discusses Busan Port Development Plans with Domestic and Foreign Shipping Companies
BPA officials and shipping company representatives are participating in a meeting to share their opinions.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Port Authority (BPA) held a meeting on the 17th at its headquarters conference room in Jung-gu, Busan, to share current issues and discuss development plans with major shipping companies calling at Busan Port.
The meeting was held with 10 foreign shipping companies in the morning and 13 domestic shipping companies in the afternoon, with branch managers from a total of 23 shipping companies attending.
At the meeting, BPA explained the impact on and response plans for Busan Port due to the pandemic, the Ukraine situation, and lockdowns in major Chinese cities, as well as the current status of idle berths utilization and new terminal supply plans at the New Port.
The shipping companies emphasized the importance of promoting terminal integration to minimize inter-terminal transport (ITT) of transshipment cargo at Busan Port and requested timely supply of new terminals at the New Port. They also presented various opinions for the development of Busan Port, including eco-friendly and safety policies.
