On the 18th, Samsung Electronics announced that Director Park passed away the day before. The funeral hall is at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The funeral procession will be held at 5:20 AM on the 20th.

He was recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the highest honor of the organization, and was regarded as a top expert in the field of semiconductor devices. He also served as the president of the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers.
