Incheon Regional Environmental Health Center Opens... Monitoring Environmental Diseases Among Residents Near Namdong Industrial Complex
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Metropolitan Area Environmental Health Center opened on the 17th on the 7th floor of the National Health Screening Center at Gachon University Gil Hospital.
The Environmental Health Center is operated regionally across the country to implement customized environmental health policies, and Gachon University was selected as the operating institution for the Incheon center last March.
The Incheon Environmental Health Center carries out tasks such as health monitoring in environmentally vulnerable areas, establishing environmental health governance and operating forums, and preventing citizen health damage caused by environmental hazardous factors.
In particular, this year, it plans to monitor the presence of environmental diseases among residents in the Nonhyeon district near Namdong Industrial Complex, and in July, it will operate the "Environmental Disease Safe Treatment Center," where any citizen can receive consultation and treatment.
The city plans to establish environmental health policies tailored to regional characteristics and strengthen prevention, management, education, and promotion of environmental diseases.
