Hamyang-gun Selected for 'Regional Culture Vitality Promotion Support Project' ... Secures 1.5 Billion KRW in Funding
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, has been selected for the 'Regional Culture Vitality Promotion Support Project,' securing a project budget of 1.5 billion KRW, including 750 million KRW in national funding.
This project is a public contest initiative newly launched this year by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to improve accessibility to regional culture and reduce cultural disparities between regions.
After consultations and planning advice from an advisory planning group, the final project plan was confirmed, and Hamyang-gun plans to actively promote the project within this month.
With this selection, cultural participation opportunities will expand beyond Hamyang-eup to other areas with fewer cultural activities, along with resident cultural activity support projects and the Namgye Seowon Hamyang Culture Enrichment Project. The 1 Eup·Myeon, 1 Culture Hamyang Project and the operation of creative studios for local cultural artists will also gain momentum, improving Hamyang’s cultural environment.
Additionally, the project plans to expand resident participation by including urban sketching, a popular field among residents, the Hamyang Culture Dream School for youth, and the production of traditional courtyard plays and children’s plays based on stories unique to Hamyang.
