Exploring Paths for the Recovery and Transformation of Cultural Arts Education
Government to Host 'World Culture and Arts Education Week' from 23rd to 29th
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service will hold the "World Culture and Arts Education Week" from the 23rd to the 29th. This year's theme is "Culture and Arts Education in the Post-COVID Era: Recovery and Transition." It reflects on the significance of culture and arts education as we return to everyday life. On the opening day, an international academic symposium will be held at Blue Square Chaos Hall. Speakers from Egypt, Malaysia, Oman, the United Kingdom, and other countries will share their views on culture and arts education after COVID-19. Cultural and arts education events involving citizen participation will also be organized. These include one-day courses in painting, crafts, music, and architecture (at Daehangno, Seoul), a performance by the "Dream Orchestra," and the academic symposium. Policy-linked programs are also prepared. In particular, on the 24th and 25th, the UNESCO Culture and Arts Education International Experts Meeting will take place at the UNESCO Hall in Myeongdong, Seoul. Experts from various countries will gather both online and offline to discuss the development of a new culture and arts education system. For more details, please refer to the World Culture and Arts Education Week website.
