"Graduation Means Employment!" ... Ulsan Office of Education Hosts Job Fair for Vocational High School Graduates with 5 Invited Companies
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education is holding the ‘2022 Vocational High School Graduate Recruitment Briefing Session’ for third-year students hoping to find employment at 11 vocational high schools until the 31st at the Employment Support Center and the Education Research Information Center’s Park Sang-jin Hall.
The recruitment briefing session was prepared to support the successful employment of vocational high school students and to promote employment among high school graduates.
The briefing session is conducted in a format where HR managers from each company introduce their company, guide the recruitment process, and then answer questions from students.
The participating companies are five companies: DB HiTek, the second largest domestic semiconductor foundry production company; STATS ChipPAC Korea, the world’s third largest semiconductor back-end (OSAT) company; Amkor Technology Korea, the world’s second largest semiconductor back-end (OSAT) company; ON Semiconductor Korea, a comprehensive semiconductor company ranked in the world’s top 20 semiconductor suppliers; and LG Innotek, a company developing and producing core materials and parts in the mobile, display, semiconductor, and automotive IoT fields.
The schedule started on the 6th and will be held weekly until the 31st. DB HiTek held the session on the 6th, STATS ChipPAC Korea on the 12th, Amkor Technology Korea on the 19th, ON Semiconductor Korea on the 25th, and LG Innotek on the 31st.
The recruitment briefing sessions were conducted after a prior survey of students’ participation intentions.
About 100 students have already participated in the DB HiTek and STATS ChipPAC Korea sessions held on the 6th and 12th, and about 200 students are expected to attend the upcoming sessions for the remaining three companies.
After the briefing session, the process proceeds from writing the job application form to aptitude tests, written exams in English and mathematics, and interviews, leading to final selection.
The Education Office’s Employment Support Center operates the entire recruitment process to support many students hoping to get hired to succeed.
The finally selected students are expected to start working from January next year after completing their school curriculum.
STATS ChipPAC Korea will conduct on-site training from the second semester, which will be linked to recruitment after October.
The employment teacher said, “Since a company recruitment briefing session that is difficult for schools to invite has been held, we will focus on guiding many students to pass the recruitment.”
