GS Retail Launches Yomart Service... "Expanding Nationwide 1-Hour Grocery Shopping"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS Retail announced on the 17th that it will launch a new nationwide instant grocery shopping service called 'Yomart,' in partnership with Yogiyo, a leading domestic delivery application (app), allowing customers to receive groceries and daily necessities quickly.
Yomart is Yogiyo's quick commerce service created by combining GS Retail's nationwide large-scale distribution network and Yogiyo's delivery platform expertise. It delivers small quantities of daily necessities such as pork belly, ramen, and sanitary pads within one hour.
Existing instant grocery shopping services faced significant temporal and spatial constraints in establishing initial logistics hubs, and delivery areas were limited due to large-scale investment requirements. However, over 350 GS The Fresh stores operated by GS Retail nationwide serve as urban logistics centers (MFCs), enabling the construction of a wide-area delivery network without additional investment in separate logistics centers.
Starting with Nowon in Seoul and the northwestern area of Cheonan, Yomart plans to expand further within the first half of this year to include over 350 stores and dedicated MFCs. Yomart's nationwide instant grocery shopping service will be carried out by GS Retail's own walking delivery platform, Woouridongne Delivery-Woochin, and delivery agencies including Vroong, Beyond, and Barogo. This allows customers to receive ordered products anywhere nationwide within one hour. The minimum order amount is 15,000 KRW, and the basic delivery fee is 3,000 KRW. A free delivery event will be held starting from the 17th.
