Namwon-si Operates 'Visiting On-site Civil Complaints and Mobile Laundry Service'
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk, announced on the 16th that starting from the 17th, it will expand the operation of the ‘Visiting On-site Civil Complaints, 120 Civil Service Volunteer Mobile Laundry’ to bring services closer to citizens and reduce the living gap for vulnerable groups.
The mobile laundry service has been well received by citizens, and it operates alongside the visiting on-site civil complaints and 120 civil service volunteer teams. It provides laundry services such as washing and drying of bedding using a dedicated built-in truck at village halls or multi-use gathering places in towns, townships, and neighborhoods, targeting vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone and disabled persons.
Regarding personnel and vehicle status, the city has ▲1 dedicated staff member (driver) / 1 public work employee ▲2.5-ton truck (built-in truck) ▲existing 2 drum washing machines and 2 dryers ▲and from the 17th, an additional 3 drum washing machines and 1 dryer will be installed and operated.
Also, by utilizing public work jobs, the city will directly visit vulnerable groups who have difficulty washing, collect their bedding, wash it, and deliver it back, expanding this service.
A city official said, “We ask to carry out dynamic city administration and citizen (user)-centered administrative promotion starting with a new mindset in 2022, and to actively engage in volunteer administration that communicates directly with citizens.”
