Chosun University Alumni Association and Scholarship Foundation Award 2022 Scholarships to Juniors
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University announced on the 15th that the General Alumni Association (President Lee Minsu) and the General Alumni Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Lee Juhyun) held the 2022 Scholarship Award Ceremony.
The award ceremony took place on the 13th at 11:30 AM in the Cheongchuleo Room (靑出於ROOM) on the 2nd floor of the main building of Chosun University.
Attendees included Lee Minsu, President of the General Alumni Association; Lee Juhyun, Chairman of the General Alumni Scholarship Foundation; Cho Guhyun, Executive Vice President; Lee Jeonghoe, Director of the Scholarship Foundation; as well as university officials including President Min Yeongdon.
The ceremony proceeded with the scholarship certificate presentation, a greeting from President Lee Minsu, congratulatory remarks from President Min Yeongdon, an encouragement speech by Chairman Lee Juhyun, and a commemorative photo session, hosted by Kim Yongrae, Secretary General of the General Alumni Association.
The scholarships were awarded to seven general scholarship students (recommended by the university president), two Ungok Special Scholarship Foundation students (recommended by the Muan County Governor), established with a 110 million KRW donation by former General Alumni Association President Lee Wongu, three Haegwang Scholarship students (recommended by the Dean of the College of Business Administration) selected through a 3 million KRW donation by Chairman Lee Juhyun, and three Lee Minsu Scholarship students (recommended by the university president) selected through a 3 million KRW donation by President Lee Minsu.
Additionally, two Lee Jeonghoe Scholarship students (recommended by the university president) were selected through a 2 million KRW donation by Lee Jeonghoe, Director of Hanyang Family Medicine; three Japyeong Scholarship students (recommended by the university president) through a 2 million KRW donation by former Director Kim Sugwan of Chosun University Dental Hospital; one Kim Gapju Scholarship student (recommended by the university president) through a 1 million KRW donation by Kim Gapju, CEO of Dume Food System Co., Ltd.; and one Lee Seunglim Scholarship student (recommended by the university president) through a 1 million KRW donation by Professor Lee Seunglim of Sangji University. In total, 21 current students each received 1 million KRW, amounting to 21 million KRW in scholarships along with scholarship certificates.
Lee Juhyun, Chairman of the General Alumni Scholarship Foundation, said, “I sincerely congratulate all scholarship recipients and will continue to strive to provide a foundation for the academic advancement of junior students and the development of the university. I hope you grow into outstanding leaders of our society and spend your precious school days with youthful passion, as these times will never come again.”
Lee Minsu, President of the General Alumni Association, stated, “I am pleased to meet our proud juniors at this meaningful event, and I am proud to see you represent the bright future of our alma mater. Congratulations to all scholarship students, and I hope you never give up or become discouraged despite any adversity, but achieve your goals and develop into excellent leaders of our society.”

Meanwhile, the Chosun University General Alumni Association has supported and encouraged the growth of juniors by awarding scholarships totaling over 500 million KRW to more than 500 students since before the foundation’s establishment in 2001.
