Urging Approval of the Prime Minister
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The People Power Party urged the Democratic Party of Korea to approve the Prime Minister, saying, "We hope they will stop obstructing so that the new government can start working."
Yang Geum-hee, the floor spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in a commentary on the 15th, "The domestic and international situations are severe, and pressing livelihood issues are piling up, but the Democratic Party's avoidance of the plenary session vote for the Prime Minister's approval is a dereliction of duty regarding the role and responsibility of the National Assembly."
Spokesperson Yang pointed out, "It has already been 13 days since the confirmation hearing for Prime Minister nominee Han Duck-soo ended," and "Tomorrow will mark 40 days since the request for the confirmation hearing was submitted to the National Assembly."
He said, "The Democratic Party should promptly convene the plenary session and proceed with the approval process to fulfill their duty and responsibility to the people," adding, "Through the recent hearing, both ruling and opposition parties thoroughly verified the nominee's qualifications, policy capabilities, and morality. The Prime Minister of the new government has the heavy responsibility to respond to the economic rebound and the era of economic security as soon as possible."
