Obstruction of Business Charges
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] A man in his 40s who caused a disturbance at a pub out of anger after being refused to share a table was sentenced to probation.
The Seoul Western District Court Criminal Division 7 (Chief Judge Jeong Cheolmin) announced on the 15th that Jumo (42), who was tried for obstruction of business, was sentenced to 4 months in prison with 1 year of probation.
Judge Jeong stated the sentencing reasons, saying, "The defendant has been punished several times for similar violent crimes," but also considered that "(the defendant) confessed and showed remorse, the victim does not want the defendant to be punished, and the business owner submitted a letter requesting no punishment for the defendant."
Jumo is accused of obstructing business operations for 15 minutes at a pub located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on July 18 last year.
