Gwangju City Election Commission Launches Campaign to Encourage Local Election Voting at Baseball Stadium

The Gwangju Election Commission announced on the 13th that it conducted various promotional campaigns, including a first-time voter ceremonial pitch event, during the home game between the Kia Tigers and kt Wiz held at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field on the 11th.
Park Jehee, a member of the Gwangju-based dance team "Miss Molly," was invited as the ceremonial pitcher.
In this local election, voting rights are granted to those born up to June 2, 2004, and Park Jehee is a first-time voter with her first-ever voting right. The ceremonial batter was Park Seeun, the leader of "Miss Molly."
"Miss Molly" is a Gwangju-based dance team that appeared on the high school girl dancer competition program "Street Dance Girls Fighter," showcasing outstanding performance and talent, and is greatly loved by the MZ generation.
The Gwangju Election Commission raised awareness of Voter's Day and increased interest in the 8th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Elections through events such as the "Match 6 and 1!" pitching event, a seven-vote early voting experience per person, and handicraft experiences for visitors in front of the central entrance of Champions Field from 4 PM to 6 PM before the game started.
Additionally, alongside the baseball broadcast, Ryu Sangik, head of the Public Relations Division of the Gwangju Election Commission, served as an honorary commentator for one day to provide guidance on election procedures and voting precautions.
In the stands, various cheers commemorating Voter's Day and the local elections were held using hand towels.

A Gwangju Election Commission official said, "We organized this event to increase voter interest in the 11th Voter's Day and the 8th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Elections by conducting promotional campaigns together with local residents visiting the baseball stadium," adding, "We hope this campaign will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the meaning and importance of voters and lead to increased voter participation."
