60s Woman Suspected of Cholecystitis in Jeju Chuja Island 'Emergency Transport'
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] A woman in her 60s suspected of acute cholecystitis was urgently transported by the Jeju Coast Guard from Chuja Island, Jeju City.
According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 13th, a report was received that at around 6:40 PM the previous day, Ms. A (female in her 60s, resident of Chuja) was suspected of acute cholecystitis and required urgent transfer to a higher-level medical institution for detailed examination.
Upon receiving the report, the Jeju Coast Guard dispatched a 500-ton patrol vessel patrolling nearby waters, and at around 7:24 PM, took over the emergency patient Ms. A and her guardian Mr. B, a total of two people, from the Chuja Police Substation coastal rescue boat and urgently transported them.
The Coast Guard arrived at Jeju Port at around 8:52 PM and safely handed them over to the waiting 119 ambulance team.
A Jeju Coast Guard official stated, “We will do our best to protect the lives of the people by maintaining an emergency response posture for emergency patients in island areas and at sea.”
Meanwhile, this year, a total of 15 emergency patients have been transported using patrol vessels by the Jeju Coast Guard, with 8 emergency patients from Chuja Island.
