Wanju-gun Selected for Public Data Enterprise Matching Support Project Competition

[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju County announced on the 13th that it has secured 338 million KRW in national funding after being selected in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's digital New Deal project, the '2022 Public Data Enterprise Matching Support Project' competition.

The Public Data Enterprise Matching Support Project is a New Deal initiative that matches private data companies with public institutions requiring data construction, processing, and quality management, opening public data and creating youth jobs in the data sector.

Through the 'Local Food Data Standardization and OpenAPI Opening Project,' Wanju County analyzed systematic information and disclosed it, presenting a sustainable food policy that builds trust between producers and consumers.

Following the final selection in the competition, Wanju County plans to sign an agreement with a private data company as early as this month and proceed with the project from next month until the end of the year.

In the future, four types of data?certification information by local food item, crop information, daily and monthly sales information?will be constructed and processed, then opened on the Public Data Portal for anyone to use.

The public data opened through data standardization work is expected to utilize big data functions, a core of the 4th industrial revolution, and respond to basic data use such as policy research related to local food and data prediction and analysis.

Additionally, linked with youth internships, 13 young workers will be employed, gaining various practical experiences over six months at private data companies, from field surveys to public data construction and processing, thereby fostering talent for the digital New Deal.
