Pohang City’s Working Moms SOS Service was selected as an excellent case in the Resident Life Innovation Expansion Support Project.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The “Working Mom SOS Service for Work-Family Balance” implemented by Pohang City, Gyeongbuk Province since the second half of 2017, has been selected as an excellent case in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s “2022 Resident Life Innovation Case Expansion Support Project.”
The “Resident Life Innovation Case Expansion Support Project” is a program aimed at nationwide expansion of excellent innovation cases and achievements of local governments discovered through various evaluations and competitions hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety last year. Its purpose is to go beyond discovering local achievements and to spread them so that more residents can feel the impact in their daily lives.
This year, among 510 excellent cases, after the first round of document screening, the second round of national online preference surveys, and the third round of expert on-site verification, a total of 34 excellent cases were finally selected in six fields: ▲Key Tasks ▲Resident Life Proximity ▲Carbon Neutrality ▲Resident Health and Safety Improvement ▲Welfare Blind Spot Resolution ▲Regional Economic Revitalization.
Selected as an excellent case in the Resident Life Proximity field, Pohang City’s “Working Mom SOS Service for Work-Family Balance” is a project that dispatches child caregivers to provide emergency childcare services when sudden care gaps occur. It supports work-family balance by reducing the childcare burden on dual-income families and greatly contributes to creating local women’s jobs through systematic training of child caregivers.
