Japan Imposes Additional Sanctions on Russia... Freezes Assets of 141 Including Russian Prime Minister
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] On the 10th (local time), the Japanese government announced additional sanctions against Russia, targeting Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and others.
According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun and foreign media on the 10th, Japan held a cabinet agreement (a decision-making format where ministers of related departments sign to approve policies decided by the responsible department) to sanction 141 individuals, including Prime Minister Mishustin, and 71 organizations such as shipyards.
The Japanese government imposed asset freezes and export bans on these individuals and organizations. It also decided to ban the export of advanced items such as quantum computers to Russia.
Among the 141 additional sanctioned individuals, 8 are Russians close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the remaining 133 are officials from the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
